About Kate Dixon
Hi, I’m Kate, an early intervention specialist supporting families of babies and young children with hearing loss who are following a listening and spoken language pathway. Bringing over 30 years of experience working with families of babies and young children with hearing loss in Australia, the USA and the UK, I can provide intervention and support in conjunction with your services locally, or provide independent intervention when services aren't as accessible.
I founded this service to offer expert support and therapy at a time when many families feel overwhelmed by new information, decisions and emotions. Whether you are adjusting to the identification of hearing loss, learning about hearing aids or cochlear implants, thinking about communication choices, or looking for ways to develop your child's communication, listening and spoken language, I am here to support you.
My approach is holistic, family-centred and practical. I work with families and caregivers to build confidence, strengthen communication and make listening and language part of everyday life.
Collaboration with nurseries, preschools and early years professionals is critical, so that children are supported consistently across the people and places that matter most to them.
I work with families across the UK and internationally, offering remote and in-person support/therapy sessions depending on each family’s needs.
My belief is simple: when families feel informed, supported and empowered, children are given the best possible foundation to flourish.
Working alongside, rather than instead of, the professionals already involved in your child’s care is core to the work; our aim is to work collaboratively, sharing information with the entire team around the child. Where appropriate, I can help you prepare for appointments, understand recommendations, ask useful questions and keep support consistent across home, nursery and clinical services.

Kate was our Teacher of the Deaf from the time our daughter was just six weeks old through to the age of six, and her impact on our family has been immeasurable.
From the very beginning, Kate gave us the tools, confidence and support we needed to navigate what was, for our entire family, a new and unfamiliar experience. She brought an extraordinary depth of experience and knowledge, together with an extensive professional network, and consistently guided us towards evidence based strategies and resources. Most importantly, she empowered us to understand our options and make informed decisions about our daughter’s education as she grew.
Kate’s guidance was always thoughtful, age appropriate and genuinely engaging. She adapted her approach as our daughter developed and as our needs changed, meeting her exactly where she was at every stage of her early years.
What sets Kate apart, however, is her genuine care and compassion. Her deep understanding of early childhood development, combined with her expertise in deaf education, gave us enormous confidence as parents. She saw our daughter as a whole child, understood her individual strengths and needs, and helped ensure that she had every opportunity to thrive.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have had Kate alongside us during such formative years. Her guidance and support have helped set our daughter on a path of continued confidence, independence and success, and we will always be enormously grateful for the role she has played in our lives.
